Propeller Mixers and Agitators

Sonic's superior performance Typhoon Propeller Mixers and Agitators are used for mixing and agitating liquids and dissolving and suspending solids within liquids.  Our propeller mixers provide longer life and greater stability and are a big step above your average catalog propeller mixer.  The Typhoon Propeller Mixers do it better!  Our hollow shaft design and extra-wide bearing assembly provide the stability and durability needed for a long life.  Most propeller mixers have shafts that are mounted to a motor by way of an inferior coupling held by set screws, subjecting the motor and drive assembly to vibrations caused by mixing.  Our design prevents this!

Superior Design Features

Double-wide Bearings

Patented Hollow Shaft motor interconnect

Drive end isolated from shaft vibrations

Strong Aluminum Housing

Material Construction

304 and 316L stainless

In order to properly size a Typhoon Propeller Mixer, we must know the tank size, the fluid specific gravity, fluid viscosity and the type of material being mixed.  If the depth of a tank is 4 times greater than its diameter, then 2 propellers are recommended for the job.  When longer than normal shaft lengths are required, Sonic recommends a stabilizer ring welded to the OD of the propeller to prevent shaft wobble and deformation.  Please complete our Mixer Request Form and we will get back to you to discuss:

A) Motor horsepower, supply voltages, speeds

B) Drive reduction; direct, gear, etc.

C) Mounting options

D) Shaft lengths

E) Prop style; marine style, impellers, foils, etc.

If you have tech details on a current mixer and are looking for a replacement or improvement, then provide this info on our Mixer Request Form, otherwise a Sonic specialist will size the mixer and furnish a quotation.  We will always call you promptly to discuss your interest in our mixers.
